Justin Demmitt is a queer, Afro-Latino writer from Brooklyn, New York. Their work is informed by their passion for self-reflection, breaking the mold of social norms for hispanic and black people to be stoic in their tribulations, and the value of individuality outside of community labels.

They deeply care about these ideas because of their experience growing up struggling to find specific and intimate spaces to feel radical acceptance with themselves in relation to his family and peers, and aims to create this healing space for others that feel or have felt similarly.

They are interested in exploring themes of chosen family, holding space to cultivate love for one’s self and others rather than hatred, and preserving grace for marginalized communities and their hardships.
